In the ad campaign, K-pop mega star BIGBANG appeared together with local songstress Sherina to appeal to the Indonesian market.
KakaoTalk is a multi-platform texting app that allows iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry users to send and receive messages for free.
After three years and three months in action, the Korean startup KakaoTalk has surpassed 100 million users on its social messaging app.
The most spectacular aspect of KaKaoTalk’s performance could be that it outperformed Facebook in SouthKorea to become the nation’s top social network.
The TV ad campaign above is a part of its aggressive marketing strategies targeted at Southeast Asian regions — as have Line and WeChat as they seek to push out Whatsapp.
