SEOUL, Apr. 22 (Korea Bizwire) – Kia Motors has launched a new service in the North American market that allows customers to customize the design of their vehicle’s cluster and infotainment displays according to their preferences.

Ahead of the start of the NBA playoffs, Kia has introduced “Display Themes” that change the visual appearance of the displays to match the branding of the customer’s favorite NBA team, the company announced on April 19.

The 30 available Display Themes enable drivers to personalize the colors and graphics of the cluster and infotainment displays to suit their individual tastes. Even the animations that appear when starting and shutting off the engine can be customized.

Customers can purchase their preferred NBA team’s Display Theme through the Kia Connect Store and wirelessly update their vehicle’s displays using over-the-air (OTA) software updates.

Kia initially introduced the Display Themes on April 9 for the all-electric EV9 large sports utility vehicle (SUV).

In the domestic market, the company plans to expand the service later this year, targeting vehicles equipped with the next-generation infotainment system, ccN, and OTA capabilities.

“We developed the Display Themes to accelerate the transition to software-defined vehicles (SDVs) and provide personalized vehicle experiences,” said Pablo Martinez, vice president of Kia’s CXD Business Division.
