SEJONG, Nov. 16 (Korea Bizwire) – A groundbreaking ceremony for the National Central Arboretum in Sejong, South Korea’s de facto administrative capital, was held on Wednesday.
The 649,000-square-meter garden will comprise of three major sections: a community and participation zone, for various culture, art, and recreational activities; an exhibition zone, for the display and observation of diverse plant life; and a plant education and research zone, including a research building and a greenhouse for rare and region-specific species.
A total of 134.1 billion won ($114.8 million) will be invested in the project, which is expected to be completed in 2020.
