Korean Air Surpass its Longest Non-stop Flight Record

SEOUL, June 15 (Korea Bizwire)In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, South Korea’s flagship carrier Korean Air Lines Co. has set its longest direct flight record.

Korean Air’s cargo plane KE8047, which departed from Incheon International Airport at 9:14 pm last Saturday, arrived at Miami International Airport in the U.S. after flying a distance of 13,405 kilometers over 14 hours and 42 minutes.

The 13,405 kilometers was Korean Air’s longest non-stop flight since its foundation in 1969.

At present, Korean Air is using 16 passenger aircraft consisting of 10 Boeing 777s and six Airbus A330s as cargo planes by removing passenger seats.

During the period from March 2020 to May 2021, Korean Air’s passenger aircraft adapted for cargo use made a total of 8,300 flights.
