SEOUL, May 7 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean travel agencies have resumed sales of new overseas travel packages for the first time in more than a year following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The move came after the government announced a plan to exempt the 14-day obligatory quarantine requirement for vaccinated travelers entering other countries.
Very Good Tour Co. released a Guam package tour product for vaccinated people late last month, a first among domestic travel agencies.
The package is a four-day and five-night tour product using the Lotte Hotel in Tumon Beach as an exclusive accommodation.
The country’s top tour agency Hana Tour Co. also started receiving reservations for package tour products for four regions – Hawaii, Switzerland, the Maldives and Dubai.
If travel is not possible due to a new wave of COVID-19, reservations can be cancelled without penalty. The date of departure and region can also be changed.
Mode Tour also began to receive reservations for 24 overseas package travel products designed for 14 countries starting from this month.
