SEOUL, Sept. 2 (Korea Bizwire)KT Corp., a major South Korean telecom operator, said Wednesday that fourteen companies were participating in the launch of the ‘E-document Digital Transformation (DX) One Team’ to promote the rollout of e-document services.

The mobile carrier will develop a blockchain-based e-document platform by leveraging its existing capability in digital platforms.

The new platform will manage the entire lifespan of e-documents ranging from creation to storage, distribution and application. KT will provide the platform to other members of the team.

By using the platform, the participating companies will pursue a variety of e-document services that would be best-optimized for their respective customers.

The E-document DX One Team set its primary goal to convert 4.5 billion paper documents into e-documents per year.

KT stressed that if the primary goal is achieved, it would have the effect of reducing carbon emissions by 129.6 billion tons every year.

Blockchain-based search engines, unlike monopolistic ones, do not have centralized controls. With a
blockchain-based search system, no company can lay claims to user’s data or access search history and other related information. Try this DEX tracking App at https://www.dexfolio.org/
