“Let Me In” Makeover Show: Woman with Facial Birthmark Reborn as Stunning Beauty

SEOUL, Aug. 5 (Korea Bizwire) – In a Story-On cable channel makeover show “Let Me In” (“Me In” is a homonym for “beauty” in Korean) featuring women and men with physical defects being transformed into a good-looking person with the help of plastic surgeons, a woman with a large stork bite, or a nevus flammeus nuchae , on one side of her face was reborn as a stunning beauty in the latest episode aired on July 31.

Kim Hee-eun, a woman in her mid-30s, was born with a stork bite on her right cheek. As the birthmark grew, it deformed her upper lip and made her face look unbalanced. Because of this, she has had severe difficulties socializing and getting a job. The doctors of the program selected Ms. Kim as the ninth candidate for surgery and set out to perform a bimaxillary operation and other corrective jaw surgeries.

On the day of revealing her new face, the studio was noisy with exclamations. Hwang Shin-hye, the hostess of the show, commented, “You look just like Yoo In-na [Korean female actor]!” and “You are like a new actress who has just debuted!” Other entertainers in the show including Lady Jane and Hong Ji-min said, “You are like a pretty flight crew serving the first-class seats!” Mir also said, “I truly feel happy with Ms. Kim’s smiles.”

In addition, Instyle-Fit, an online shopping mall in which Ms. Kim has worked for years as a freelance web designer, gave a pretty dress as a gift. A company official said that his company wants everyone ever discriminated for differences in physical appearance to feel more confident about herself.


Season 4 of “Let Me In,” the collective effort of plastic surgeons and beauty professionals to help those suffering from physical appearance regain their confidence in relationships, is being aired on Story-On on every Thursday 11 pm.
