SEOUL, July 4 (Korea Bizwire) – LG Electronics announced on July 4 that the New York Yankees, one of America’s most prestigious professional baseball teams, have joined its “Protecting Endangered Animals with LG” campaign.

The initiative, which aims to raise awareness about biodiversity, features stunning and dynamic images of animals threatened by climate change on electronic billboards in New York’s Times Square.

To coincide with the Fourth of July celebrations, this latest installment of the campaign focuses on the bald eagle, America’s national bird and an endangered species. The New York Yankees, moved by the campaign’s message, lent their support to the effort.

From July 2 to 4, LG Electronics hosted a “symbolic adoption” event at Yankee Stadium, the team’s home field. This charitable activity allows participants to contribute to wildlife habitat restoration and research in exchange for a stuffed animal and an adoption certificate.

Visitors who took part in the event received certificates, along with maps highlighting areas in the United States where bald eagles can be observed and complimentary binoculars.

The funds raised during this event will be donated to the National Wildlife Federation, supporting their nationwide tree-planting initiatives throughout the year.

“As a global corporate citizen, LG Electronics is committed to fulfilling its responsibility for a sustainable future for all,” said Jung Gyu-hwang, LG Electronics’ representative for North America. “We will continue to engage in environmental protection activities that we can share with our customers.”
