SEOUL, Aug. 4 (Korea Bizwire) – LG Electronics celebrated the graduation of students from its LG-KOICA Hope Vocational Training School in Phnom Penh on July 30, the company announced on August 4.

The Hope Vocational Training School is an initiative by LG in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to provide technical education for youth in countries such as Cambodia and Ethiopia.

In Cambodia, the program has been operating specialized courses in electronics, electrical engineering, and information and communication technology (ICT) at three vocational training schools in Phnom Penh and Battambang since 2021.

The program has produced over 300 graduates to date, with a majority of them pursuing further education or securing employment in related fields, including entrepreneurship.

At the graduation ceremony, a female graduate in the electronics field shared her experience. “The electronics sector was not easily accessible for female students,” she said. “Through the Hope Vocational Training School, I gained the skills and expertise to overcome gender constraints and am now working at a refrigeration equipment company.”

LG Electronics’ efforts align with its “Life’s Good” philosophy, which encourages an optimistic outlook on life and bold challenges. Yoon Dae-sik, executive vice president of external relations at LG Electronics, emphasized the company’s commitment to this ethos. “We plan to continue spreading the sincerity of ‘Life’s Good,’ which embodies perseverance through life’s challenges with an optimistic attitude,” he said.

Yoon added, “We will continue our efforts to help young people around the world nurture their dreams and achieve healthy independence.”
