SEOUL, Jan. 21 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics said Tuesday it will launch a new all-in-one garment care solution later this month, reinforcing its push to broaden the role of home appliances in daily clothing maintenance.
The product, called the LG System Ironing, will be released on Jan. 26 and combines a steam iron, a handheld steamer and a built-in styling board into a single unit. The company said the system is designed to make ironing easier while reducing fabric damage.
Using fine, high-pressure steam, the device smooths wrinkles without leaving moisture in fabrics and can eliminate up to 99.99 percent of harmful bacteria through high-temperature sterilization, LG said.
The system includes seven preset modes tailored to different materials, including cotton, wool and rayon. To improve stability during ironing, LG equipped the product with an “active styling board” that uses built-in fans to either lift garments with airflow or hold them in place through suction — a feature intended to help users manage lightweight or delicate fabrics.
The styling board’s cover can be removed and washed, and the board itself folds vertically for easier storage.
Designed with mobility and ease of use in mind, the system allows users to adjust the board’s height electronically and control steam temperature, airflow strength and ironing modes through a 4.3-inch LCD touch display. Four wheels at the base allow the unit to be moved easily around the home.
The launch follows LG’s recent release of its 2026 New Styler Objet Collection, which includes both five-garment and three-garment models.
The larger model incorporates artificial intelligence that analyzes clothing weight data to recommend optimal styling and drying times, along with a dual “TrueSteam” system that operates independent heaters and steam outlets. The smaller version, aimed at single-person and dual-income households, features a slimmer design.
“LG will continue to drive innovation across the full spectrum of garment appliances, from washing and drying to styling,” said Son Chang-woo, head of the company’s Living Solution Business Division.
