LG Expands Wildlife Conservation Campaign with 3D Pygmy Owl Video in Times Square

SEOUL, July 28 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics has unveiled the latest installment in its wildlife conservation campaign, broadcasting a striking 3D video of the endangered pygmy owl on the digital billboards of New York’s Times Square, the company announced Sunday.

The short film, part of LG’s ongoing “Life’s Good” environmental initiative, marks the seventh installment in a series aimed at raising awareness about endangered species threatened by climate change and habitat loss. The visually arresting display shows a pygmy owl in mid-flight, wings beating against clouds of dust, seemingly bursting through the screen.

Native to the deserts of the western United States and Mexico, pygmy owls typically nest inside cacti but are seeing their numbers dwindle due to habitat destruction and rising temperatures.

By showcasing endangered animals in high-definition 3D, LG hopes to highlight the urgent need to protect biodiversity and mitigate global warming. The company has previously featured snow leopards, bald eagles, red wolves, and West Indian manatees, among others, as part of the campaign.

This year, LG also partnered with NBC to co-produce a nature documentary series, signaling a broader expansion of its environmental messaging in North America.

“Our global campaign to protect endangered animals aims to raise awareness of climate change and the critical importance of biodiversity,” said Jung Kyu-hwang, Executive Vice President and Head of LG’s North American operations.
