SEOUL, Nov. 15 (Korea Bizwire) – LG Group is gearing up to launch a massive promotional event to celebrate the first Korean Series victory of its professional baseball team, the LG Twins, in 29 years. Consumers, particularly those with high expectations for home electronics from LG Electronics, are eagerly anticipating the celebration.
As per LG Group’s announcement on Tuesday, discussions are ongoing among its affiliates, including LG Electronics, LG Household & Health Care, and LG Uplus Corp, regarding the scale and specifics of promotional events to mark the victory of the LG Twins. This move follows the trend set by Samsung and Kia, which launched promotional events after their professional baseball teams secured the Korean Series title.
LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, expressing the family’s deep passion for baseball, visited Jamsil Stadium for both Game 1 and Game 5 of the Korean Series, donning a glossy jumper. This special connection to baseball is contributing to the heightened expectations from consumers.
Among the affiliates, LG Electronics, renowned for selling high-priced home electronics, is expected to have the most significant impact with its discounts, garnering the highest attention.
In September, LG Electronics launched a promotion in support of the LG Twins. During this event, LG Electronics offered gifts such as glossy jumpers and uniforms signed by LG Twins players, along with chicken gift icons, to its home electronics customers through lotteries.
LG Electronics’ online shopping mall also introduced a promotion providing membership points of up to 300,000 won to customers purchasing recommended items if the LG Twins clinched the Korean Series.
Comments expressing anticipation for LG Electronics’ discount promotions are gaining traction on social media and online communities. Customers are eagerly seeking discounts across all product lines from LG Electronics, including refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, dishwashers, notebook PCs, and induction ranges. Particularly, dishwashers, emerging as popular home appliances, and stylers (clothing care systems) dubbed as bedbug killers, are receiving considerable attention.
