SEOUL, June 21 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics Inc. said Monday it had signed an agreement with Yonam College located in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province to jointly study indoor gardening appliances.
The college was founded by LG Group, the parent company of the South Korean tech giant.
Under the terms of the agreement, the two parties will conduct a big-data analysis on the growth condition of various plants and create optimal growth environments within LG’s indoor gardening appliances such as the LG tiiun and its smaller version, LG tiiun mini.
LG will strive to find the optimal growth conditions for various plants by analyzing big data on brightness and time of illumination, temperature, humidity and the frequency of watering.
Moreover, it will also continue to develop and market new seed kits that allow users to cultivate various plants.
The LG tiiun, released last year, is an indoor gardening appliance designed to make it easier for users to cultivate various flowers, vegetables and herbs at home. At present, 22 different types of seed kits are available in the market.
