SEOUL, Sept. 17 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean tech giant LG Electronics Inc. said Wednesday it has signed a supply deal with U.S. construction company Century Communities Inc. to provide its artificial intelligence (AI) home appliances to newly built houses.

Under the agreement, LG Electronics will supply energy-efficient AI home appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, dryers and ovens, through 2029, the company said in a release.

The company said its specialized team will customize and provide home appliances suited to the housing structure and geographical location.

LG Electronics said it plans to supply products with Energy Star certifications while applying the LG ThinQ AI platform.

The latest agreement marks the second of its kind for LG Electronics after clinching a supply deal with Lennar Corp., another U.S. housing construction company, last year.

“The company will solidify its presence in the business-to-business sector for home appliances in the U.S.,” said Jung Kyu-hwang, who heads LG Electronics’ North American operations.
