SEOUL, July 25 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Electronics Co.’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldable phone and Z Fold 5 will be equipped with a function to inform users about any defective universal subscriber identity module (USIM).
LG Uplus Corp., South Korea’s No. 3 mobile carrier, said Monday it has developed this feature in collaboration with Samsung.
Consequently, all new smartphones, starting from the Galaxy S23, will come equipped with this function.
The function will be available in Samsung’s new foldable phone models scheduled for release on Wednesday.
If a smartphone detects a defective USIM, it will automatically notify the user through the notification bar at the top of the screen, facilitating easy problem-checking for users.
