TOKYO, Japan, Sept. 25, 2013 (Korea Bizwire) – LINE Corporation, owners and operators of the free calling and messaging app, LINE, announced that it has added two new features, Video Call and Snap Movie, to its platform.
The Video Call function is compatible with iPhone, Android devices, and PCs (Windows/Mac), enabling free 1-on-1 video calls between supported devices. Video calls will be supported over both Wi-Fi and 3G networks. Users can also switch between video and voice anytime during the call, allowing them to enjoy face-to-face conversations with family and friends.
Snap Movie lets users take short 4- to 10-second video clips and arrange them with their choice of background music. They can then share the clips with members of their LINE friends list and groups via smartphone, giving them a simple and fun way to communicate with peers.
In addition, by leveraging the Home and Timeline features on the LINE platform, users can share their most recent happenings and life stories with one another by posting pictures, videos and location information on their own space. Furthermore, users can choose from 9 different background songs to assign to their video.
LINE also recently added soccer clubs FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, and US Open Champion Rafael Nadal, to its growing list of Official Accounts. Users are able to follow updates from Official Accounts and interact with them in real-time during “On Air Mode”, when the Official Accounts can read and respond to messages from users. There are currently 118 corporate accounts worldwide (as of August 2013).
Since its launch in June 2011, LINE has grown to become a service enjoyed by users all over the world, reaching from Japan to as far as Taiwan, Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries, the Middle East, Spain, India, and South America.
