SEOUL, Nov. 6 (Korea Bizwire)Starfield, a chain of shopping malls operating under the Shinsegae Group, announced yesterday that it would be showing off various Christmas tree decorations at its shopping locations situated throughout the metropolitan area.

At Gangnam’s Starfield COEX mall, over 14,000 books were stacked up to create a “book tree,” a large-scale installation that measures 9 meters in height.

The book tree is a work of art created by American installation artist Mike Stilkey, who used books that were previously discarded to create a mystical ambience evoking fairy tales coming to life.

Meanwhile, at Starfield’s Goyang outlet, Santa’s village made of 6 million Lego bricks will be made public on November 9. The village will include a 5-meter Christmas tree and Rudolph the reindeer made of Lego.

The Hanam mall will feature a golden Christmas tree measuring 16 meters tall in addition to 15 smaller Christmas trees that are each 2.3 meters tall.

Various golden ornaments and decorations such as reindeer, Christmas bells and stars will bring back the magical experience of Christmas to any child or adult this year.
