SEOUL, Jan. 27 (Korea Bizwire)South Korean retailers are introducing a string of eco-friendly products, including bottled water with no labels, and plastic cup coffee without a straw.

On Tuesday discount store chain Lotte Mart released two types of its own private-label brand (PB) bottled water that have no label on the bottle – a pack of six 2-liter bottles and a pack of twenty 500-milliliter bottles.

The no-label bottles eliminate the need for consumers to remove the labels prior to recycling, while contributing to reducing the amount of waste generated.

Lotte Mart plans to change all of its private-label water bottles to no-label models within the first half of this year.

The company expects this initiative to contribute to reducing the amount of plastic waste generated by 21,800 kilograms per year.
