SEOUL, June 8 (Korea Bizwire) — McDonald’s celebrity collaboration with K-pop supergroup BTS is sweeping across South Korea.
McDonald’s Korea, the South Korean unit of U.S. fast food chain, reported a 283 percent increase in Chicken McNugget sales between May 27 and June 3, compared to four weeks prior to the “BTS meal”s release.
The unprecedented spike in Chicken McNugget sales at McDonald’s indicates that the BTS meal is garnering massive popularity.
Oreo McFlurry sales also jumped by 45 percent during the same period. While the Oreo McFlurry isn’t included in the BTS meal, it’s widely known to be a favorite of BTS member V.
BTS fans, famously known as “ARMY,” were reportedly purchasing Oreo McFlurries alongside the BTS meal.
