SEOUL, Nov. 10 (Korea Bizwire) — Men consider physical looks to be more important when looking for someone to get married to compared to women.
Matchmaking firms Bien-Aller and Only You conducted a nationwide survey of 518 single men and women, in which 38.2 percent of men said physical looks come as first priority when looking for a marriage partner.
Women, in contrast, said physical looks come as a second priority (34 percent). Only 9.3 percent considered it as a first priority.
Among men, 39 percent said their marriage partner’s outward looks should be “fine,” while 32 percent said it would be okay as long as the marriage partner has a “common standard’ of physical appearance.”
In contrast, 35.1 percent of women said they’d be satisfied with “common looks,” and 32.1 percent opted for “fine” physical appearance.
Male and female respondents were divided on the question of what’s good about marrying a good-looking partner.
Roughly one-third of the men surveyed said they would frequently engage in romantic activities or have a sense of pride (26.3 percent).
In contrast, 32.1 percent of women said they’d become more generous towards their partner or spend more time with him (28.2 percent).
