SEOUL, Nov. 27 (Korea Bizwire) – Annual sales figures for Mercedes-Benz cars in South Korea have surpassed the 60,000 units mark, the first time a foreign car manufacturer has reached such lofty heights.
This year has been another rosy year for Mercedes-Benz Korea with the 2017 E- Class series alone having sold 30,000 units, another sales record broken by the German automobile manufacturer in South Korea this year.
The promising figures from Mercedes-Benz follow a stellar sales performance last year, marking the second consecutive year as the leading foreign carmaker in South Korea.
Along with the E-Class, sales of SUVs also grew by 34 percent compared to the same time last year, on the back of popular models including the new GLC Coupe.
Mercedes-Benz has seen sales increase by 30 percent on-year, reaching 58,600 units by October. In November, sales reached a monthly average of around 5,000, exceeding accumulated sales of 60,000 units.
Sales of Mercedes-Benz vehicles have grown continuously since the car maker’s South Korean unit was first launched in 2002.
