SEOUL, Nov. 22 (Korea Bizwire) – Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on Friday that its ultra-luxury sub-brand, Mercedes-Maybach, has achieved cumulative sales of over 10,000 units in South Korea.

This milestone comes nearly two decades after its introduction to the domestic luxury sedan market with the Maybach 57 and Maybach 62 in June 2004.

The 10,000th unit sold in Korea was the recently launched Maybach EQS SUV, the brand’s first all-electric vehicle, which debuted in July.

A ceremony marking the achievement was held at the “Maybach House,” a brand-exclusive cultural space in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong, with Mercedes-Benz Korea CEO Matthias Luehrs and Vice President Killian Tellen of Product, Marketing, and Digital Business in attendance.

Since launching the Maybach S-Class in 2015 and its first SUV, the Maybach GLS, in 2021, Mercedes-Maybach has seen exponential growth in South Korea.

In 2022, the brand sold 1,961 units in the country—a 147% increase from the previous year—and set a record high of 2,596 units in 2023, a 32% year-over-year growth.

South Korea has become Maybach’s second-largest market after China since 2019, even surpassing sales in its home market, Germany.

“We will continue striving to enhance customer satisfaction with the finest products and services,” said Matthias Luehrs, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea.
