SEOUL, April 14 (Korea Bizwire) — Recently, there has been a need to come up with measures to prevent the monopolization of delivery platforms.
In the midst of this period of social awareness, 6 out of 10 Koreans are in favor of the creation of a public delivery app led by local governments, a poll showed Monday.
According to a survey of 8,053 adults conducted by the cable news channel YTN commissioned by polling agency Realmeter, 60 percent of the respondents said they were in favor of the introduction of public delivery apps by each local government.
On the other hand, 23.9 percent of the respondents said they were opposed to such initiatives.
Specifically, the approval rating was relatively high in Seoul, with 66 percent in favor and 22.3 percent in opposition, and in Gyeonggi Province and Incheon, with 65.1 percent in favor and 19.7 percent in opposition.
When analyzing the results by age group, those in their 30s and 40s showed a high approval rate, with 80.6 percent in favor and 16 percent in opposition for those in their 30s, compared to 71.4 percent in favor and 19 percent in opposition for those in their 40s.
For those in their 60s or older, of which 44.4 percent were in favor, 25.1 percent in opposition the most common response at 30.4 percent was from those who were undecided or didn’t have an opinion.
Depending on ideological orientation, at 78.1 percent, the majority individuals identifying as liberals supported the idea, compared to 14 percent for those typically identifying as conservative.
