SEOUL, Feb. 9 (Korea Bizwire) – A North Korean art troupe will come to Seoul Saturday to rehearse for its second and final performance in South Korea, the unification ministry said Friday.
The 140-strong troupe, named the Samjiyon Orchestra, has been staying on the Mangyongbong-92 ferry, which is docked at the eastern port of Mukho, since it arrived in the South on Tuesday.
On Thursday, it held a rare concert at the Gangneung Arts Center in Gangneung, a sub-host city of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, to celebrate the opening of the games. This was the first art performance by North Koreans in the rival South since August 2002.
After spending one more night on the floating hotel, the troupe is scheduled to hold a rehearsal Saturday at the National Theater of Korea in Seoul, where it will give its second and final concert Sunday.
