Nat’l Assembly Speaker Invited By China To Attend World War II Military Parade

SEOUL, Aug. 20 (Korea Bizwire) National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik was officially invited by China to attend Beijing’s military parade marking the end of World War II next month, his office said Wednesday.

“Woo received an official invitation from the Chinese government to attend the Victory Day event on Sept. 3,” the office said in a press release, following his closed-door meeting with Chinese Ambassador to South Korea Dai Bing.

Woo’s office said it will announce the details after his attendance is confirmed.

China plans to hold a large-scale military parade in Tiananmen Square on Sept. 3 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of its victory over Japanese aggression during World War II.
