Naver Introduces New Advertising Service to Boost Ad Effect

SEOUL, Nov. 21 (Korea Bizwire)Naver, the largest portal site in South Korea, held a conference on the mobile business for advertisers and marketers to share best practices in its service sector. It unveiled a new advertising service, the user interface for search ads optimized for mobile devices, a new platform for off-line businesses and its new plan to upgrade the current service.

The portal site service provider invited 1,000 advertisers and marketers to hold the “Naver Business Conference 2014” at the Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas on November 20. Experts in the company disclosed their new service offerings and shared their future plans.

The company first revealed its new advertising platform called “Traffic Choice.” The service allows advertisers to promote their goods and services by just typing in simple information on the item and how much traffic they want. They don’t need to be bothered to consider which search words they should put in, or to type in each and every search word. The new service automatically exposes the client’s item. It is expected to boost the effectiveness of advertising on the Naver portal site more than ever.

Naver also announced best practices of the advertising service on the mobile platform. One of them is the “Fashion Square” service, which features image tiling and flicking in order to draw attention more as well as to make it easy to use.

A new platform for off-line businesses was unveiled at the conference as well. A ready-made mobile website for small businesses dubbed “Mobilefarm” and a platform to sell off-line products called “Stylewindow” will help small entrepreneurs do their business well with the help of Naver.

“More than 40 percent of search words typed in the Naver search engine are related to e-commerce, which means that advertising is more important than ever. With our advanced services, advertisers and marketers can easily obtain advertising effect on the platform,” said Lee Yun-sik, chief director of the company.
