Newly Appointed Ambassador to Britain Submits Letter of Credence to the Queen, in Traditional Korean Robe

SEOUL, Oct. 28 (Korea Bizwire) Kim Gunn, South Korean ambassador to Britain, on Tuesday (local time) submitted a letter of credence to Queen Elizabeth II.

The ambassador and his wife headed over Buckingham Palace in London in a carriage and joined a video conference to meet with the Queen at Windsor Castle.

Kim wore a traditional blue hanbok robe worn by Korean classical scholars during the Joseon era.

In Britain, it is customary for a newly appointed foreign ambassador to visit Buckingham Palace in a royal carriage before submitting the letter of credence to the Queen.

The event took place after the 95-year-old Queen was hospitalized for a day, garnering high interest among local media outlets.
