Incheon, Korea, August 8, 2013 (Korea Bizwire) – Smile Banner System announced on August 6 that it has developed a ‘Smartphone System to Protect Parking Rights of the Disabled’ which allows people to report illegally parked cars in spaces reserved for the handicapped through smartphones, and will be signing agreements with local governments for nationwide uptake.
Previously, reports had to be done by phone by providing the car information, location, and time of the violation to the person in charge, making the process cumbersome. Now, citizens that find illegally parked cars anywhere can report it simply by scanning the QR code on the disabled parking space signs, which will automatically record the place and time of the violation. Then by taking a picture of the car and uploading it on the website, the report will be sent to the email account and smartphone of the officer in charge.
Once reported, a text message will be automatically sent by the local government office to the owner of the car illegally parked ordering them to move their car. In addition, the smartphone system has improved the GPS system to even work underground.
Cho Seon-hyeon, CEO of Smile Banner System, said, “There were approximately 30,000 cases of illegal parking in spaces reserved for the handicapped in 2012, making it difficult for the disabled to park their cars. With our new system, the parking rights of the disabled will be better protected because a text message is sent by the government, whereas before people did not cooperate and move their cars when the disabled called them directly. We also hope that many citizens will use the system because it is easy to install and use.”
