SEOUL, Sept. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Metropolitan Government said Wednesday it will open pet care centers for socially vulnerable groups on a trial basis.
The project, to end on Dec. 22, aims to support vulnerable groups who face difficulties arranging accomodation for their pets in case of a long-term absence.
The pet care centers will accept pets from those benefitting from the National Basic Livelihood Security Program and those in the lower income tier.
Anyone eligible for the pet care service can contact a local pet care center designated by the city and submit the necessary documents to have their pets kept at the center for up to 20 days free of charge.
There are nine designated pet care centers in Seoul. The disabled or a single-person households can also request a pet escort service free of charge.
