SEOUL, Dec. 11 (Korea Bizwire) — A recent survey has revealed that jobs related to pet care are increasing in popularity among part-time workers.
Albamon, a South Korean online job portal, conducted a survey of 725 part-time workers, 75 percent of whom said they prefer to work for pet care business.
Among part-time workers who owned a pet, 86.5 percent preferred to get a pet-related part-time job.
At 77.4 percent, roughly three quarters of those wanting to work at pet-related business said they would still prefer to work there even if it meant getting paid less.
Asked why they preferred to get a part-time job at a pet-related business, the most popular response at 45 percent was that they personally love animals, while 30.1 percent said that it would be fun to work with animals.
As for what kind of pet-related part-time job they liked, 65.4 percent said they wanted to work at a pet cafe, followed by pet walking (35.3 percent), pet shopping mall (19.9 percent), and pet hotels (19.1 percent).
As for what kind of animals they want to work with, 68.4 percent said they wanted to work with dogs, while 24.8 percent preferred cats.
Other pets included fish (2.4 percent), hamsters (1.7 percent), and birds (1.5 percent).
