SEOUL, March 9 (Korea Bizwire)With new public sales of protective masks coming up this week, pharmacists are asking the public to join a campaign where protective masks are yielded to people in need.

Under the measure that took effect on Monday, citizens can only buy up to two protective masks per week from pharmacies, on designated days of the week, depending on the final digit of their year of birth.

The Korea Pharmaceutical Association (KPA) said in a statement Sunday that it was asking the public to join the ‘I’m Okay, You First’ campaign to allow those in need to receive protective masks firsthand.

“Wearing a mask is just one of many ways to prevent infection from the coronavirus,” the KPA said.

“The need for masks for coronavirus prevention is being exaggerated.”

“Washing your hands and social distancing are far more critical than just putting on a mask,” the KPA added.
