Professionals Become Advisors in the Thriving Cryptocurrency Market

SEOUL, Jul. 19 (Korea Bizwire)Professionals from both South Korea and abroad are gathering in the blockchain market as the popularity of cryptocurrencies continues to expand rapidly.

Former executives from major IT, finance, and venture investment firms in the country and abroad are joining blockchain businesses as advisors.

David Park, the former head of product management at Facebook, was recently hired as an advisor by Carry Protocol, a blockchain-based platform that promotes a virtuous cycle of purchase data.

Park is recognized for boosting sales for Facebook through mobile advertisement.

Koh Young-bum, a former Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics Co. was also hired as an advisor at 12 Ships, a development project for cryptocurrency mining.

Fiction, a blockchain startup for digital content, recruited Hwang Young-ki, the former head of the Korea Financial Investment Association, as an advisor early this year.

Hwang is the former president of Samsung Securities Co. and chairman of Woori Financial Group with ample experience in domestic finance and investment.

Advisors take on the role of setting the way ahead for various blockchain projects, winning trust, and attracting investment based on their experience and networks.
