SEOUL, Aug. 12 (Korea Bizwire) — Many corporations and public organizations today tend to display big sculptures and paintings in their lobbies and conference rooms. Even though a piece of artwork instantly enhances the ambience and makes the viewer feel like she is walking in a gallery, these are sometimes out of reach for many, costing tens of thousand dollars or more.
Here is good news for them: one can rent expensive artworks for months or years for a fraction of the cost of buying them outright. Joongang Culture & Art Program Center recently began leasing out large sculptures and paintings under a “Gallery in Motion” program. Rental fees are determined depending on the type of organization, the nature of event, and the length of lease.
For example, government agencies or public entities can get discounts. Any organization that rents longer than six months can also get additional discounts. The renter of multiple artworks can get delivery free of charge.
Kim Hyun-kyung, curator of Gallery in Motion, said, “Until recently our main customers were corporations and public entities asking for super-large sculptures. But we’ve been getting a lot of inquiries lately from hospitals, resort hotels, golf clubs, and festival venues and we decided to create the new program.” For further information, check the website at www.culturalcenter.or.kr or call 055-521-7446.
