INCHEON, July 5 (Korea Bizwire) — The Incheon District Prosecutors Office said Tuesday it will initiate a customized treatment program specifically designed for teenage drug offenders.
In collaboration with the Incheon Probation Office and the Incheon Chamsarang Hospital, the program will be the nation’s first of its kind, offering treatment for a duration of up to one year, prosecutors said.
Teenage drug offenders who are deemed suitable for this program will be given the opportunity by the prosecution to undergo treatment.
To avail this opportunity, they must meet the condition of receiving proper guidance from the probation office, and their indictment will be suspended during the treatment period.
Chamsarang Hospital will administer neuropsychological tests and provide addiction treatment to the teenagers. Subsequently, the hospital will report the progress to both the prosecution and the probation office.
To ensure the program’s effectiveness, the prosecutors office and the probation office will diligently monitor the progress and implement necessary improvements.
