Psy to Introduce New Track in Chinese at QQ Music Awards

SEOUL, March 24 (Korea Bizwire)South Korean rapper Psy will join the QQ Music Awards, one of the famous music awards ceremonies held in China, where he is expected to perform a song in Chinese.

According to YG Entertainment, Psy’s talent agency, he will perform two songs at the awards ceremony, which will be held at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center in Shenzhen on March 25, after receiving the “Most Influential Star” award.

While one of the two songs will be his mega hit “Gangnam Style,” the other one is attracting attention in China. An entertainment industry official expected that the second track will be performed in Chinese for Chinese fans, and would either be a new song or an existing one with Chinese lyrics.

Last December, YG Entertainment signed an MoU with Tencent, the sponsor of the awards. According to the agreement, YG will distribute its music and music videos through QQ Music, Tencent’s digital music service platform. In addition, Tencent has exclusive rights to distribute YG content in China.

Meanwhile, K pop girl group 4Minute, American singer songwriter Jason Mraz and Chinese stars Wang Leehom and Jolin Tsai will also participate in the awards ceremony.
