SEOUL, Sept. 22 (Korea Bizwire) — Texas Rangers’ outfielder Choo Shin-soo has reached the 20-homer plateau for the fifth time in his major league career.
Choo hit a solo home run off Emilio Pagan of the Seattle Mariners in the top of the seventh at Safeco Field in Seattle on Thursday (local time), giving the Rangers a 4-0 lead. They held on to win the game 4-2.
This was Choo’s 20th long ball of the season. His career-high for a season is 22, set in 2010 while with the Cleveland Indians and matched in 2015 with the Rangers.
Choo also hit 20 or more home runs in 2009 and 2013.
For the game, Choo went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. He’s batting .264 and has 75 RBIs to accompany those 20 homers.
After Thursday’s game, the Rangers have 10 games left this season.
