SUWON, Korea, Feb 6 (Korea Bizwire) – The Rural Development Administration has launched a new version of the Android app “Korean Cow Bridegroom Finder.” Developed in 2012 for both Android and iPhone devices, the original app has so far logged in more than 7,000 downloads, allowing cattle farmers and artificial insemination professionals to find appropriate breeding bulls for their heifers.
The upgraded version has added more options so that the user can pinpoint his requirements better. To download the free app, visit Google Play Store at play.google.com and install the program. The app can offer recommendations on best semen samples based on the information the user has supplied.
Depending on the ID number of the female cow and her father’s ID number, the app calculates the estimated reproductive capacity of the calf to be born from the insemination. It even spews out data on estimated weight at 12 months and meat rating from A to D, as well as more detailed information such as the muscle-fat ratio and the back-fat thickness.
The Korean Cow Bridegroom Finder app has replaced the previously available printed-edition booklet “Korean Cow Breeding Guidebook” and desktop-edition Excel program. It also offers a service to evaluate the cow’s genetic abilities provided by the National Institute of Animal Science every six months.
