SEOUL, Jan. 30 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s resorts and hotels are scrambling to attract so-called “petfam” guests with pets. Petfam (pet+family) refers a family that treats pets as a family.
The Kensington Resort Chungju, which became a pet-friendly resort facility in December 2020, has been visited by 50,000 people ever since, who brought 65,000 pets.
Sono International Co. runs Vivaldi Park ski resort in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, operating 155 pet-friendly guestrooms and Sono Calm Goyang in Gyeonggi Province, operating 26 pet-friendly guestrooms.
The resorts come with pet-exclusive playgrounds, cafes and restaurants.
Hotels are also coming up with the newest pet-friendly accommodation packages.
Boutique hotel L’Escape, with 12 pet-friendly guestrooms, offers an accommodation deal providing free exclusive pet snacks until June.
The Four Seasons Hotel Seoul is also offering a pet-friendly accommodation package until March.
