SEOUL, June 15 (Korea Bizwire)The Russian claim that South Korea was sending military support to Ukraine has been proven false.

The Russian Embassy in North Korea recently shared a photo on its social media account showing howitzer shells labeled “155mm howitzer TNT.”

They alleged that South Korean weapons were being used to harm Russian troops and residents.

The embassy utilized a North Korean expression in a post, suggesting that “South Korea is employing various tactics to avoid direct criticism for shipping weapons to Ukraine.”

However, an analysis conducted by the South Korean military revealed that the photo was identical to one published on the official blog of the Defense Media Agency in June 2015.

Both photos had the same lot number.

The blog post showcased a maritime firing drill featuring the K-9 self-propelled howitzers at the Republic of Korea Army’s Eighth Corps.

It displayed the personnel operating the howitzer and 155mm artillery shells.

To summarize, Russia wrongly employed a photo that was originally posted online by the ROK Army, falsely asserting that Korean weapons had been sent to Ukraine.
