SEOUL, Aug. 20 (Korea Bizwire) — A South Korean brewery is jumping into the European market to compete with traditional brewers.
Jeju Beer Company, based on the southern resort island of Jeju, announced Thursday that it will export three kinds of craft beer, ‘Jeju Wheat Ale,’ ‘Jeju Pellong Ale,’ and ‘Jeju Geomeong Ale’ to Europe.
The beer will be exported to Britain, Germany, France and the Netherlands. The company aims to include more European export destinations in the near future.
Jeju Beer doubled the size of its brewery in Jeju and teamed up with leading beverage maker Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co. to resolve supply issues to secure its expansion in Europe.
The company has been exporting craft beer to India, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, China and other Asian countries since 2019.
