SEOUL, June 23 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean football star Son Heung-min has appeared in the popular online shooting game Fortnite as an in-game character, the title’s publisher Epic Games said Monday.
Fortnite players can purchase the limited-time Son character within Fortnite’s item shop from Monday through Saturday. The character comes with the uniform themed on that of his team, the Tottenham Hotspur, and signature face mask.
Epic Games’ collaboration with Son follows the company’s announcement earlier this month of its expanded push into the South Korean market.
The company recently launched localized content featuring K-pop stars, including BTS’ Jungkook and Jimin. Epic Games has also teased an upcoming partnership with the hit Netflix series “Squid Game” ahead of its third season.
