SEOUL, Feb. 6 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s Air Force said Tuesday that its Black Eagles, one of Asia’s best acrobatic flight teams, will perform a show at the Singapore Airshow to open later in the day.
It will be the squad’s third appearance at the biennial event known as the biggest aviation industry expo in the region.
The Black Eagles, using T-50B supersonic trainer jets, plan to demonstrate various skills, including its “Change Turns” and “Scissor Passes,” during four flight shows through Sunday and also operate a PR booth at the venue, according to the Air Force.
It will also help publicize the PyeongChang Winter Olympics to open in South Korea this week.
“Through fabulous performances, we will contribute to efforts to enhance the global stature of the Republic of Korea and prove the superiority of the domestically made aircraft,” said Col. Kim Young-hwa, leader of the Black Eagles.
The Black Eagles team left its base in Wonju, Gangwon Province, for Singapore on Jan. 26 and arrived at Changi Airport three days later after flying around 5,438 kilometers. It’s scheduled to return home Feb. 19.
