SEOUL, Feb. 19 (Korea Bizwire) – Samsung Electronics Co. on Friday introduced a module that supports the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, paving the way for small and medium enterprises to speed up the development of IoT products.
The module, dubbed ARTIK, is composed of various parts including an application processor, memory, sensors and a communications device. It supports various high-end technologies including security solutions and cloud computing services.
Samsung said the module will simplify the development of various IoT-related products, allowing the company to take a step closer in creating a new ecosystem for the industry.
IoT is a concept in which all tangible objects are connected to the Internet and can identify themselves to other devices in order to exchange necessary data for improved efficiency and convenience.
Samsung added it will operate the so-called Certified ARTIK Partner Program that shares various hardware and software technologies to those seeking to develop IoT products via the module.’
