SEOUL, April 21 (Korea Bizwire) — As schools around the world are shutting down due to the coronavirus, Samsung Electronics Co. is stepping in to provide digital support for education.
Samsung’s branch office in Spain and humanitarian organization Save The Children plan to give out 600 tablet PCs to children from impoverished families to support online education.
The company also joined hands with Fundacion Pais Digital, a Chilean non-profit organization promoting digital culture, to offer online courses on mobile app programming.
Italy, the first European country to face the coronavirus, began to offer home schooling and digital education support in various regions since last month.
Samsung’s branch office in Italy offered a digital education program for schools in Lombardy region on March 16. The company also began offering e-learning courses on March 23 at schools in Rome.
