SEOUL, Dec. 14 (Korea Bizwire) – A lightweight laptop computer by South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. has received the best evaluation from a U.S. consumer magazine, beating those by foreign rivals, its publication showed Wednesday.
Samsung’s Notebook 9 clinched the top spot with 77 points out of 100 in the most recent review by Consumer Reports in the ultra-portable laptop category.
U.S. rival Apple Inc.’s MacBook Pro came in close second with 77 points, the magazine said, without revealing decimal points.
The Notebook 9 was evaluated for excellent performance in an extremely portable package, with a svelte design and a weight of just 2.8 pounds, the magazine said.
The magazine also said consumers would expect more than 10 hours and 30 minutes of battery life with a 180 degree flat display mode.
Lenovo’s Yoga came in third by clinching 76 points, followed by HP’s Spectre x360, and another Samsung model, the Note 9 Pro, the magazine said.
The evaluations were based on performance, portability, ergonomics, versatility, display, battery life and weight, it said.
