SEOUL, July 20 (Korea Bizwire) – The show must go on. Even though a significant number of major events across the globe have been canceled or put off due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Milan Fashion Week, one of the world’s leading fashion events, was able to greet fashion enthusiasts thanks to super-sized digital signage from Samsung Electronics installed at the Duomo Cathedral in Milan, Italy.
According to the tech powerhouse, Samsung’s Smart LED signage installed on the outer wall of the Duomo Cathedral aired the fashion show’s runaway events from the July 14. Milan Fashion Week is held semi-annually — in February and September in Milan, featuring a range of clothing in the runup to the next season.
Italy’s National Fashion Association, the organizer of Milan Fashion Week, decided to transform the fashion show into a digital event as COVID-19 made it impossible to welcome the usual number of guests in person.
With the 103-square-meter display, Samsung LED signage supports the industry’s highest level of 9,000 nits of brightness — technological prowess not interrupted by Italy’s famously abundant sunlight — providing a vivid image from the event online.
