SEOUL, June 18 (Korea Bizwire) – Armed with a premium monitor of wide quad high-definition (WQHD) display panel which is 1.8 times sharper resolution than full-HD display, Samsung set out to take over the high-definition monitor market.
On June 16, Samsung Electronics rolled out the SD850 monitor optimized for the users who consider the sharp picture the most important factor. Its two models, 27-inch and 32-inch monitor, offer 175 degrees of wide viewer angle.
The 3.7-megapixel WQHD display (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) monitor can deliver 1 billion colors and fully support sRGB color range, standard for digital devices.
For those who want various functions of the monitors like content developers and programmers, Samsung’s SD850 monitor is equipped not only with picture-in-picture feature which shows a smaller screen inside the larger one but with the picture-by-picture feature which allows for two computers to be easily connected using either VGA or DVI and displays screens from the separate sources side by side.
To maximize the consumer convenience, the monitor enables various adjustability functions like height, tilt, swivel and pivot. Also, with clean back design applied by titanium silver metal color, it has a classy and innovative look.
With the embedded eco-light sensor, the brightness of the monitor can be automatically controlled in accordance with the surrounding light. It was certified as an eco-friendly product by gaining an Energy Star 6.0 certification and it is a certified TCO product.
Kim Seok-gi, executive director of the Visual Display business unit at Samsung Electronics, said, “With the introduction of the SD850 monitor, we will lead the HD monitor market and keep introducing various and innovative products to meet the needs of the monitor market for professionals.”
