SEOUL, Aug. 6 (Korea Bizwire) – Samsung Electronics will load Joyn Blackbird service, dubbed as a “mobile carrier version of KakaoTalk,” in its smartphones for the first time in the industry.
On August 4, Samsung announced that it became the first smartphone handset manufacturer by securing the service into its Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5. Joyn Blackbird is a communications platform of the Rich Communication Services developed by GSMA, and offers video and image sharing and file transfers through one-to-one and group chats. With the pre-embedded app in its flagship models of Galaxy S4 and S5, Samsung will begin the service by the end of this year.

Meanwhile, Anne Bouverot, director general of GSMA, an association of mobile operators and related companies, had asked Samsung to embed the service in Samsung’s smartphones when she visited Korea July last year.
