Samsung to Open a “Kitchen Class” in France’s Prestigious Culinary School Ferrandi

SEOUL, Korea, Oct 28 (Korea Bizwire) – Samsung Electronics will join hands with Ferrandi Paris, the state-run French School of Culinary Arts, to create a “Samsung Kitchen Class” fully equipped with Samsung’s kitchen appliances and teach students how to prepare gourmet dishes. To that end, Samsung’s CE Division chief Yoon Boo-keun and Ferrandi Paris president George Nectoux signed an agreement on October 24 at the school in the French capital.

With 80 full-time professors and 100-or-so part-time instructors doubling as chefs at top restaurants in the city, Ferrandi produces an average of 1,500 graduates. It also administers education of more than 2,000 culinary professors a year.

At this school, Samsung will set up its own space of 231 square meters with every appliance that’s needed for high-quality cooking lessons, including refrigerators, wine cellars, built-in ovens, microwave ovens, cooktops, hoods, and dishwashers. At the Samsung Kitchen Class, lessons on how to keep food ingredients fresh, how to make special dishes, and secret recipes handed down by top chefs.

Mr. Yoon said of the latest arrangement, “The Samsung Kitchen Class to be open at Ferrandi will be a model case on how best to cooperate between the world’s best culinary school and a home appliance maker. This will be an excellent opportunity for the students to experience the best of what we can offer.” The latest partnership was made as part of a wider program “Club des Chefs” launched to strengthen the brand power of Samsung’s kitchen appliances.
