SEOUL, Dec. 18 (Korea Bizwire) —  Samsung Electronics said Thursday it has released 20 works from the late Lee Kun-hee’s famed art collection for free on its “Samsung Art Store,” expanding public access to some of Korea’s most treasured cultural masterpieces.

The selection includes Inwang Jesaekdo—a seminal landscape painting designated National Treasure No. 216—alongside iconic works such as Ten Longevity Symbols, Kim Hong-do’s Chuseongbu-do, and the royal court painting Ilwol O-akdo, long associated with the authority of the Joseon Dynasty.

Other highlights include Gyeonghyeondang Seonondo, Gunjeopdo, Obang Oje Wido, Sajiksa Jado, Avatamsaka Sutra, Volume 15, Chaekgado, Saenyeongyehoe-do, Gudambong-do, Pyeongsaeng-do, Imjin Jinchando, Haehak Bando-do, Samjang Bosal-do, Seobinggo Mangdoseong-do, The King Overseeing River Works, Tiger and Magpie, and Midday Wrestling.

Samsung said it worked with the National Museum of Korea to select the 20 pieces best suited for viewing on Samsung televisions, rendering each in high-resolution 4K imagery.

The newly released digital collection coincides with a major international exhibition of Lee Kun-hee’s donated artworks, curated by the National Museum and currently on display at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art under the title Treasures of Korea: Collecting, Cherishing, Sharing. The exhibition will later travel to the Art Institute of Chicago from March to July 2026, and to the British Museum from September 2026 to January 2027.

The 20 works will remain available on the Samsung Art Store through January 2027, when the overseas tour concludes.
